UL and NIJ Compliant
Tested to the Extreme!
We have successfully completed several rounds of ballistic testing using SMS Labs in MD and continue to push the limits. The “WaterBear” material met the standards set by UL and NIJ. The results speak for themselves, as shown in the pictures below. Specific test results available to USA entities upon request and foreign enterprises through official US Government channels.
“LifeWall” is tailored based on your threat definition. We will discuss your desired protection needs and create a panel accordingly. The core of our system is Steelike UHPC. Whether your threats come from ballistics, hurricanes, tornadic winds, blast or fire, our system will offer the best protection possible. In the image below you’ll see a target that was hit with 5.56 Green Tip (aka M855) rounds and two types of 30 caliber rounds, armor-piercing (aka APM2) rounds and M80 rounds multiple times without failure nor cracking. The “LifeWall” panel shown below was 2.5″ thick, and the deepest a round penetrated was 1.5 inches.
Just a note: Our team has shot multiple times on outdoor ranges and while fun and dramatic, we embrace science and moved testing to SMS Labs to ensure quantifiable and repeatable results. We used UL and NIJ Standards current through 2024. Those standards were updated in 2025, and we are currently updating our compliance using the newer standards.
Test Methods.
The test methods are dictated by UL and NIJ standards.
For example, under pre-2024 standards, a material could pass using a 30-caliber round. Also, the material could pass being shot with a 5.56 round. But exactly what type of round was used: 30 cal. AP, 5.56 Steel Core? New standards are very specific as to the ammunition type and number of test samples. For the upgraded 2025 Standards, we will focus on 556 Steel Core. We picked the most agressive AP (Green Tip) and the 30 cal. APM2 ammunition. We will always make your security our design and testing priority!
